Signs your spleen qi is low

Constantly tired after eating? Can't think clearly in the afternoon? Crave sugar the moment stress hits?
TCM has a name for that. And it's more common than you'd think.
In TCM, the spleen doesn't just filter blood — it's the engine of your entire digestive and energy system. It transforms the food you eat into qi and blood. When it's functioning well, you have steady energy, clear thinking, and easy digestion.
When spleen qi is low, everything slows down.
Signs to look for: → Fatigue that arrives right after meals — even small ones → Loose stools or unpredictable digestion → Brain fog that sits like a cloud, especially 1–3pm → Sugar and carb cravings — the spleen is asking for energy it can't produce itself → A feeling of heaviness in the limbs — like your body is harder to carry than it should be → Bloating even when you haven't eaten much → Pale lips and a tendency toward bruising
What depletes spleen qi: Cold and raw foods eaten regularly. Eating in front of a screen. Chronic overthinking. Skipping meals. Eating too fast.
What rebuilds it: Warm, cooked foods. Regular meal times. Reducing cold drinks. Rest after eating — even 10 minutes.
The spleen responds to consistency more than intensity. It doesn't want cleanses or overhauls. It wants to be treated gently, every day.
How many of these did you recognise in yourself? Comment your number — I'm genuinely curious.
